Slay the Spire is a deckbuilding roguelike: every fight, reward, route, shop, and rest changes the run. This is the practical layer of VEDAGames—what players need to understand, survive, and eventually win.

The story of a run

You are not solving one puzzle. You are becoming better at the climb.

Choose a character and a first idea.

Your deck starts small. Every card, relic, and reward is a possible future—but also a commitment.

02 · Climb

Read the map like a story with consequences.

Take a safe path, chase an elite, visit a shop, or rest. The route changes what your deck can become.

Fight, win, lose, and carry the lesson forward.

The Spire resets, but you do not. Your next run begins with a better question and a sharper instinct.

Start here

What happens in a run?

  1. Read enemy intent and your energy.
  2. Build a deck that answers the next threats.
  3. Choose a route: fights, elites, events, shops, rest.
  4. Adapt—then remember what the run taught you.

Survival guide

How to win—and avoid getting killed.

Early floors

Take enough damage

Early attacks help you beat hallway fights and elites. A perfect deck is less useful than a deck that solves the next immediate threat.

Every reward

Draft with a plan

Ask what your deck is missing: damage, block, scaling, draw, or answers to a boss. Skipping is a real choice.

The map

Route for information

Balance risk, rest, shops, and elites. A route is a forecast about what your deck can survive—not a race to the top.

Combat

Use intent as evidence

Block when the hit matters, attack when the window is safe, and use potions before a preventable death.

Long runs

Scale before Act 3

Powerful cards and relics are not enough without a way to draw, generate energy, or compound value over several turns.

Secrets

Learn the exceptions

Events, relic interactions, pathing rules, and boss patterns reward curiosity. Record the result instead of trusting a guess.
